Schmincke Acrylic paint feedback

As you know, I have been running free 1.5 hour sessions on acrylic paints and mediums, discussing techniques and characteristics. Tomorrow is the last Tuesday of May and so the last of these sessions.

However, I will start to give occasional feedback about my acrylic paint experiences, so if you want to receive this information when I “post” it, register your email address below and you will receive the posts automatically. You can unsubscribe at any time also.

SCHMINCKE Acrylics……….well, we all know that Schmincke pastels are just gorgeous to use, and I am discovering that it is the same with their acrylics! The colours are intense and the drying time is rapid. There are not a lot of mediums, but, in my opinion, there are too many mediums with some brands and it can become a little confusing for some.

The complete range of Schmincke acrylic paints are available at Artroomers, along with the mediums and varnishes.

We would love to hear what you think of the paint. One customer has not liked it so much because she said it was too much like oil paint, and another has commented on the glossy finish of the painting medium. Personally I don’t like glossy either, but I found the gels to be very acceptable and yes, they do tend to produce a finish not unlike that of oil paint.

A preview of how I have used the paints and the particular medium that I used, follows:
